This attractive vintage handmade Persian Turkmen rug is a traditional tribal weaving dating from approximately 50–60 years ago. It features a beautifully ordered all-over gul design, with rows of geometric medallions linked across the field and framed by multiple finely patterned borders.

Measuring 190 × 127 cm (approximately 6 ft 3 in × 4 ft 2 in), the rug is a versatile size suitable for a living room, bedroom, study, entrance hall, fireside area or beneath a coffee table.

The rug has a warm coral-red and muted terracotta field decorated with repeating dark indigo and charcoal guls. Fine geometric motifs appear between the main medallions, while the layered borders contain small tribal symbols in deep navy, soft brown and subtle muted green. The naturally aged colours give the rug warmth, depth and an appealing vintage character.

Hand knotted from fine, soft lamb’s wool on a wool foundation, the rug has a comfortable handle and durable construction suitable for regular household use. Its balanced pattern and warm colouring make it an excellent furnishing piece for both traditional and contemporary interiors.
