This beautiful vintage handmade Persian Bidjar rug is a fine example of the outstanding craftsmanship for which Bidjar rugs are renowned. Often referred to as the “Iron Rugs of Persia” due to their remarkably dense and durable construction, Bidjar rugs are among the most hard-wearing handmade carpets ever woven.

Featuring a striking single diamond medallion set within the famous Herati (Fish) pattern, this elegant rug combines intricate geometric detail with timeless tribal character. The balanced composition and superb drawing make it an attractive furnishing piece for both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Measuring 150 × 96 cm (approximately 4 ft 11 in × 3 ft 2 in), this versatile rug is ideal for an entrance hall, study, bedroom, reading corner or beneath a coffee table.

The rug displays a rich madder red field beautifully contrasted with soft ivory, deep indigo blue, olive green, warm terracotta, and subtle golden accents. The harmonious colours create warmth and character while highlighting the intricate Herati design throughout the field.
