This handsome handmade Persian Hamedan runner is a finely woven vintage example from the Greater Hamedan region. Dating from approximately 40–50 years ago, it features the celebrated Herati pattern, arranged in a beautifully balanced all-over composition with strong geometric borders.

Measuring 395 × 83 cm (approximately 13 ft × 2 ft 9 in), this long and relatively narrow runner is especially suitable for a hallway, landing, corridor, entrance hall or alongside a kitchen island.

The field is woven in a deep navy-charcoal tone, densely decorated with stylised floral and geometric motifs in brick red, terracotta, ivory, muted blue and soft brown. A bold geometric border in ivory, red and dark blue frames the design and gives the runner a strong, well-defined appearance.

Hand knotted from fine lamb’s wool on a cotton foundation, the runner combines durability with the warmth and character expected from a genuine vintage weaving. Its dark field is practical for a busy household, while the intricate pattern helps disguise everyday marks.
