This attractive handmade Persian Heriz runner is a finely woven village rug dating from approximately 15–20 years ago. It features a traditional sequence of bold geometric medallions, beautifully arranged along the length of the runner and surrounded by smaller tribal and floral motifs.

Measuring 280 × 80 cm (approximately 9 ft 2 in × 2 ft 7 in), its long and narrow proportions make it particularly suitable for a hallway, entrance passage, landing, corridor or alongside a kitchen island.

The runner has a rich coral-red and brick-red field decorated with medallions in deep navy, soft ivory, muted rose and warm beige. Accents of olive green, pale blue and dark brown add depth and character, while the narrow geometric border gives the design a strong and well-defined finish.

Hand knotted from fine lamb’s wool using traditional natural dyes, the runner has a soft handle and a strong, durable construction. The beautifully balanced colours and bold Heriz design give it considerable warmth and decorative character.
