This characterful antique handmade Persian Qashqai rug is a traditional tribal weaving dating from approximately 80–90 years ago. It features a powerful large central medallion surrounded by a densely decorated field of small flowers, shrubs, geometric forms and stylised animal motifs, including traditional lion figures.

Measuring 215 × 130 cm (approximately 7 ft 1 in × 4 ft 3 in), the rug is a versatile furnishing size for a living room, bedroom, study, entrance hall or beneath a coffee table.

The rug’s greatest attraction is its beautifully aged colour palette. The field is woven in layered shades of soft brick red, faded madder, muted terracotta and warm rust, with subtle variations created by age and traditional dyeing. The large medallion introduces deeper tones of charcoal, dark brown and faded indigo, softened by details in dusty rose, muted orange, soft ivory, camel and touches of blue-grey.

The pale corner motifs have mellowed to shades of soft beige, faded ivory and old rose, while the narrow border combines warm red, brown and dark indigo tones. These naturally softened colours give the rug a warm, understated appearance and genuine antique character without looking overly bright.
