This characterful antique handmade Persian Qashqai rug is a traditional tribal weaving dating from approximately 60–70 years ago. It features three large linked diamond-shaped medallions surrounded by numerous small tribal motifs, giving the rug an authentic and highly individual appearance.

Measuring 220 × 107 cm (approximately 7 ft 3 in × 3 ft 6 in), its long rectangular proportions make it suitable for a hallway, entrance hall, landing, beside a bed, in front of a sofa or as a decorative feature in a study.

The rug has a softly faded beige and warm camel field, framed by deep charcoal-black corner sections and borders. The design is highlighted with muted indigo blue, dark brown, ivory and subtle earthy accents. These beautifully mellowed colours give the rug a calm, understated character that works particularly well in both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Hand knotted from fine lamb’s wool using traditional natural dyes, the rug has a low pile consistent with its age and use. This natural wear contributes to its antique appearance and gives the surface a soft, timeworn patina.
