This attractive antique handmade Persian Qashqai rug features a traditional triple-medallion design, surrounded by numerous stylised flowers, birds, animals and small tribal motifs across a warm red field.
The rug has a beautifully aged colour palette including brick red, terracotta, deep burgundy, dark navy blue, ivory, cream, black, charcoal, warm brown, muted orange, soft pink and small pale-blue accents. The three dark geometric medallions create a strong focal point, while the beautifully drawn multiple borders frame the composition with excellent definition.
Hand knotted from very fine lamb’s wool on a wool foundation, the rug has a durable tribal construction, good pile and appealing old character. It is in great vintage condition, has been professionally hand washed and is ready for immediate use or display.
