Fine Handmade Persian Bidjar Runner – 267 × 50 cm (8 ft 9 in × 1 ft 8 in)

This fine handmade Persian Bidjar runner features a sequence of linked floral medallions filled with large rose motifs, arranged across a deep navy field decorated with the traditional Herati pattern.

The colour palette includes deep navy blue, ivory, cream, coral pink, rose pink, burgundy, red, pale blue, turquoise, olive green, soft green, beige, brown and black.

Hand knotted from fine wool on a cotton foundation, the runner has a fine weave, dense construction and good pile. It is approximately 5–10 years old and remains in excellent, as-new condition.

As with many handmade rugs, the runner is not completely straight. This is a natural characteristic of hand weaving and does not affect its use.
