This impressive handmade Persian Mashad carpet is a finely woven city piece dating from approximately 60–70 years ago. It features a magnificent classical floral design with an elegant open field of scrolling vines, palmettes and flowering sprays, beautifully balanced around a subtle central axis.

Measuring 380 × 300 cm (approximately 12 ft 6 in × 9 ft 10 in), this substantial room-size carpet is ideal for a large living room, dining room, reception room, drawing room or formal sitting area.

The carpet has a rich wine-red field, decorated with finely drawn floral motifs in soft blue, ivory, warm gold, beige and muted green. The design is framed by a broad navy blue floral border with beautifully detailed palmettes and scrolling vines, complemented by finely woven guard borders that provide excellent definition and balance.

Hand knotted from fine lamb’s wool on a strong cotton foundation, the carpet has a detailed city weave and durable construction suitable for everyday use. The deep wine-red ground gives warmth and character, while the refined floral drawing reflects the quality and craftsmanship for which Mashad carpets are renowned.

The carpet has been professionally hand washed and is clean, fresh and ready for immediate use or display.
