This attractive old handmade Persian Hamedan runner is a traditional village weaving dating from approximately 60 years ago. It features a series of geometric medallions arranged along a warm red field, surrounded by small tribal motifs and framed by a contrasting ivory border.

Measuring 295 × 80 cm (approximately 9 ft 8 in × 2 ft 7 in), its long, practical proportions make it ideal for a hallway, landing, corridor, entrance hall or alongside a kitchen island.

The runner has a warm brick-red and terracotta field decorated with medallions in ivory, deep navy, muted blue, soft green, brown and charcoal. The ivory border brightens the overall design and gives the runner a strong, well-defined appearance.

Hand knotted from fine lamb’s wool, the runner has the authentic character of an older village weaving. It remains in good vintage condition with an evenly low pile, making it practical for regular household use and suitable for placement beneath doors or in busy areas.
