This elegant vintage handmade Persian Kashan rug is a finely woven city rug dating from approximately 40–50 years ago. It features a beautifully balanced central medallion surrounded by scrolling floral sprays, palmettes and classical vase-inspired motifs.

Measuring 185 × 110 cm (approximately 6 ft 1 in × 3 ft 7 in), this versatile rug is ideal for a living room, bedroom, entrance hall, study, fireside area or beneath a coffee table.

The rug has a warm coral-red and madder-red field centred by a striking floral medallion in deep navy, ivory and soft blue. Flowing floral motifs in muted turquoise, dusty pink, warm beige, olive green and dark brown decorate the field, while a deep navy floral border gives the design strong definition and balance.

Hand knotted from very fine wool on a strong cotton foundation, the rug has a finely detailed weave, good pile and a soft handle. Its naturally dyed colours have matured beautifully, giving the rug warmth, depth and genuine vintage character.

The rug remains in excellent condition and has been professionally hand washed, leaving it clean, fresh and ready for immediate use or display.
