This attractive vintage handmade Turkmen rug is a finely woven tribal piece dating from approximately 30–40 years ago. It features a traditional all-over gul design, with rows of geometric diamond-shaped medallions arranged across a warm red field and framed by multiple decorative borders.

Measuring 125 × 95 cm (approximately 4 ft 1 in × 3 ft 1 in), this compact rug is ideal for a bedroom, entrance hall, fireside area, study, reading corner or beneath a small coffee table.

The rug has a rich ruby-red and warm terracotta field decorated with repeating guls in ivory, charcoal, dark brown and deep navy. Smaller geometric motifs fill the spaces between the main medallions, while finely patterned borders provide strong definition and authentic tribal character.

Hand knotted from very fine lamb’s wool on a wool foundation, the rug has a soft handle, good pile and durable construction. It remains in good vintage condition and is suitable for regular household use.

The rug has been professionally hand washed and is clean, fresh and ready for immediate use.
