This striking vintage handmade Persian Hamedan rug is a distinctive tribal weaving dating from approximately 40–50 years ago. It features a bold, symmetrical floral design with large stylised flowers, flowering vases and geometric decorative elements arranged across a dark central field.

Measuring 195 × 125 cm (approximately 6 ft 5 in × 4 ft 1 in), it is an attractive and practical size for a living room, bedroom, study, entrance hall, dining area or beneath a coffee table.

The rug has a deep charcoal-black field enriched with warm brick red, terracotta, coral, muted blue, turquoise, ivory, soft pink and olive-green details. The lighter ivory border creates a strong contrast with the dark field and is decorated with stylised floral and vine motifs, giving the rug a lively and highly decorative appearance.

Hand knotted from very fine lamb’s wool on a strong cotton foundation, the rug has good pile and a durable construction suitable for regular household use. It remains in excellent vintage condition, showing only very slight age-related wear.

The rug has been professionally hand washed and is clean, fresh and ready for immediate use.
