This attractive handmade Persian Karajeh runner is a traditional village weaving dating from approximately 40–50 years ago. It features a sequence of varied geometric medallions arranged along the field, surrounded by numerous small tribal motifs that give the runner distinctive character and visual interest.

Measuring 328 × 70 cm (approximately 10 ft 9 in × 2 ft 4 in), its long, narrow proportions make it especially suitable for a hallway, entrance passage, landing, corridor or alongside a kitchen island.

The runner has a warm soft brick-red and muted rose field, framed by a deep navy-black border. The medallions introduce contrasting shades of ivory, olive green, mustard yellow, faded pink, terracotta, pale blue and dark brown. These naturally dyed colours have mellowed beautifully with age, creating a warm and authentic vintage appearance.

Hand knotted from fine lamb’s wool using natural dyes, the runner has a strong and durable construction suitable for regular household use. The individual medallions and small village motifs give it a charming, informal quality that works particularly well in traditional, rustic and eclectic interiors.
