This impressive vintage Persian Kashan carpet features a magnificent central medallion surrounded by an elaborate floral design. The richly coloured dark navy field is decorated with finely drawn scrolling vines, flowers and palmettes in soft ivory, pale blue, beige, muted gold and warm brown.
Hand knotted approximately 40–50 years ago, the carpet has been woven using very fine wool on a strong cotton foundation. The detailed drawing, balanced proportions and elegant border arrangement demonstrate the skilled craftsmanship associated with traditional Kashan weaving.
Its generous room-size proportions make it an excellent furnishing carpet for a large living room, dining room, reception room or formal interior. The deep navy ground creates a strong and sophisticated focal point, while the lighter floral details provide contrast and visual balance.
The carpet remains in excellent condition with a good, even pile. It has been professionally hand washed and is ready for immediate use or display.
