This attractive vintage handmade Persian Shiraz rug is a traditional tribal weaving dating from approximately 20–30 years ago. It features three bold diamond-shaped medallions arranged along the centre of the field, surrounded by stepped geometric forms and small decorative tribal motifs.

Measuring 205 × 96 cm (approximately 6 ft 9 in × 3 ft 2 in), the rug is ideal for a hallway, entrance hall, landing, beside a bed, in front of a fireplace or as a decorative feature in a smaller living space.

The rug has a rich deep-red field complemented by dark indigo corner sections and soft ivory medallions. Accents of terracotta, muted green, pale blue, golden brown and burgundy add warmth and character, while the narrow ivory border gives the design a clear and balanced finish.

Hand knotted from very fine lamb’s wool on a traditional wool foundation, the rug has an appealing soft handle and strong tribal construction. Its bold design, practical colours and durable weave make it well suited to regular household use.
