This beautiful vintage handmade Bokhara Turkmen rug is an elegant example of traditional Central Asian weaving, renowned for its rich colours, exceptional softness and timeless geometric design. Hand knotted approximately 60–70 years ago, it remains in excellent condition, making it an ideal furnishing rug for both classic and contemporary interiors.

Measuring 157 × 115 cm (approximately 5 ft 2 in × 3 ft 9 in), this versatile rug is perfect for a living room, bedroom, study, entrance hall or beneath a coffee table.

The field is decorated with the iconic large Turkmen gul motifs, arranged in an orderly pattern across a warm terracotta-red background. The finely detailed geometric borders frame the design beautifully, while the harmonious palette of rich reds, ivory and deep navy creates warmth and sophistication.

Hand knotted using fine lamb’s wool on a wool foundation, the rug has a wonderfully soft handle while remaining exceptionally durable. It has been professionally hand washed and is clean, fresh and ready for immediate use or display.
