This attractive vintage handmade Persian Hamadan rug features an ivory central medallion set within a richly detailed Herati field. The surrounding design is filled with repeating floral and geometric motifs, framed by a deep navy floral border that gives the rug a strong and balanced appearance.
The colour palette includes warm terracotta, soft red, rust, deep navy blue, ivory, cream, beige, brown, pale blue, muted green, burgundy and small orange accents.
Hand knotted from very fine wool on a fine cotton foundation, the rug has a durable village weave and good pile. Approximately 40–50 years old, it remains in great vintage condition with only very slight wear.
The rug has been professionally hand washed and is ready for immediate use or display. Its practical size and strong construction make it suitable for a living room, bedroom, study, entrance hall or dining area.
