This attractive vintage handmade Persian Heriz runner is a traditional village weaving dating from approximately 40–50 years ago. It features a distinctive triple-medallion composition associated with the Heriz region, surrounded by bold geometric floral motifs and angular decorative forms.

Measuring 195 × 77 cm (approximately 6 ft 5 in × 2 ft 6 in), this useful runner is ideal for a hallway, entrance hall, landing, bedside area, kitchen passage or in front of a console table.

The runner has a rich madder-red field decorated with three prominent medallions in deep navy, ivory, soft blue and muted terracotta. Stylised leaves, blossoms and geometric floral motifs fill the surrounding field, while the narrow dark border provides strong definition. The naturally dyed colours have softened beautifully with age, giving the runner warmth and genuine vintage character.

Hand knotted from fine lamb’s wool, the runner has a durable village construction and a pleasantly low pile. It remains in good vintage condition and is well suited to regular use in busy areas of the home.
